An Israeli national living in Massachusetts was arrested last week in Grand Junction after prosecutors allege he traveled to the city with the intention of having sex with children.

Yaron Segal, 30, was arrested after arriving at the Grand Junction airport on March 28. There, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, Segal expected to meet a woman with whom he had been exchanging e-mails about having sex with her and her two children. The woman was actually an undercover federal investigator. No children were ever in danger during the sting.

According to the complaint, Segal had purchased several sexual devices he said he intended to use and had sent pictures of them to the undercover investigator. Segal, the complaint alleges, used an e-mail account with the user name “ruthlessmale.”

Segal is at least the third person caught in a child sex sting in recent months by federal investigators in Colorado.

Earlier this year, a Brazilian man was after allegedly flying there from Rio de Janeiro with the intention of having sex with a woman and two children. Last month, a Greek man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a charge of traveling with intent to engage in illegal sexual conduct. That man, Georgios Sgouros, had also unwittingly corresponded with an undercover investigator posing as a mother of two children. Sgouros was arrested at Denver International Airport.
