Sunsation festival. The Copper Mountain 2012 Sunsation festival takes place Saturday and April 15. Function in the Junction. The Downtown Grand Junction Art and Jazz Festival will take place May 11-13. Jazz music will be performed by local and national artists, there will be artist demonstrations and artists selling their work. Get Out in Eagle. The Get Out Expo will take place in Eagle May 12-13. There will be gear demos from top bike manufacturers, group bike rides, a parade for participants riding anything with wheels, and the “Chro-Moly” competition — a bike-making competition where two-person teams will have one hour to build a bike, then ride it 50 yards, for a minimum prize of $500. getoutexpo.com
Wild Wild West Festival. The Wild Wild West Festival will take place in Pueblo May 18-20. The Western-themed festival will feature events for the whole family ranging from concerts to carnival rides, and also includes a professional bull-riding competition.
