NEDERLAND — The annual music festival NedFest is facing its share of challenges this year.
Last week, Lyons festival promoter and venue Planet Bluegrass announced a new event — the Kinfolk Celebration — to its 2012 calendar. The event, it turned out, is scheduled on the same weekend as NedFest, Aug. 24 to 26.
Nedfest and the Kinfolk Celebration appeal to many of the same music fans.
Rob Savoy of the Peak to Peak Music Association, which is planning NedFest, said the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, may pose a bigger problem. The leg of the race planned for Aug. 25 will ride through the Golden and Boulder areas, close roads and bring thousands of spectators.
