FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Four Colorado State University students have filed formal complaints with the school alleging they were brutally beaten by members of the football team.
Police are investigating the Friday attack but haven’t identified any suspects. On Saturday, CSU football coach Jim McElwain suspended three players, Nordly Capi, Colton Paulhus and Mike Orakpo.
The players haven’t commented publicly.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports ( ) the students filed complaints on Tuesday. University officials say the student discipline process is secret and they won’t discuss specific investigations or outcomes.
Police say seven males in an SUV confronted the victims as they were walking, and five males allegedly got out and assaulted them.
Dean of Students Jody Donovan says she was horrified by photos that showed the students with black eyes, chipped teeth and abrasions.
