COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo.—Copper Mountain is making a change to its upcoming CopperMan adventure race to support one of its ski patrollers, who was injured while skiing in the backcountry near Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Sally Francklyn suffered a skull fracture when she fell and slid March 24, hitting her helmet on a rock. Her brother said in a Facebook post last week that she was still in intensive care.

Copper Mountain says it is renaming the Super Hero heat at its CopperMan adventure race Saturday as the “Super Hero Sally” heat. Copper says Francklyn’s supporters can pay a discounted $49 entry fee for the heat, and half the proceeds will go toward Francklyn’s recovery.
