DENVER—Postal Service employees plan to rally in Colorado to warn about the impact of proposed cuts.

The National Association of Letter Carriers says the rally in Denver on Thursday is part of a national effort seeking support for congressional action to shore up the struggling agency.

Workers say if Congress doesn’t do something by May 15, the Postal Service plans to close 3,600 post offices, consolidate more than 220 mail processing centers and lay off 100,000 workers. Other options include eliminating overnight delivery of first-class mail and the end of six-day delivery.
