DENVER—A co-driver was killed and a driver was injured when two tractor-trailers sideswiped each other, forcing the Colorado State Patrol to close the eastbound lanes of a major highway southeast of Denver.

Sgt. Scott Liska says the trucks collided on U.S. Highway 40 between Limon and Kit Carson early Tuesday.

Liska says the highway was closed for about six hours. He said the driver of the other truck was not injured.
