DENVER—A judge has awarded about $65,000 to a Denver woman whose dog was run over while her home was being cleaned by a maid service.

The dog later died.

Robin Lohre had sued the company Posh Maids for negligence and emotional distress. Lohre said the maid service let the dog out of her home in August while she was away, despite instructions that the dog should not be let outside. She alleged that after her dog was struck by a car, maids left the dog to die underneath a dining room table.

KMGH-TV reported Thursday ( ) that a judge found Posh Maids responsible for the dog’s death.
