LONGMONT — A 19-year-old Milliken man died early Friday morning after spinning off a Weld County Road. Alcohol and speed are both considered factors in the Colorado State Patrol’s preliminary investigation.

The man was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup truck on Weld County Road 5 just south of Colo. 66 in Longmont when he went off the road, struck a tree, spun around and rolled one and a half times. The truck hit a power pole and caught on fire, according to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis.

He was partially ejected and airlifted to North Colorado Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m.

Lewis said the man’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
