GOLDEN, Colo.—Authorities are looking for a suspect after a caller reported seeing a driver throw a cat out of the window of a moving vehicle.
The Jefferson County sheriff’s office says the caller reported witnessing what appeared to be a furry creature with a tail intentionally being thrown from a moving vehicle April 5. The vehicle was last seen getting on a ramp westbound toward Interstate 70.
Animal control officers found a dead black male cat on the road when they arrived on the scene. Officials say a necropsy confirmed the cat died due to extensive trauma. No collar was found to identify the owner.
