Three students from the town of Norwood who traveled to Denver for a wrestling tournament are accused of using an object to sexually assault a 12-year-old boy outside the Pepsi Center, authorities said Friday.
The incident occurred Feb. 16 when the four were left alone on a bus in the arena’s parking lot, parents told 7News.
Two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old grabbed the 12-year-old and took him to the back of the bus and used an object to assault him, a parent told the station.
A petition of juvenile delinquency has been filed against the three teens by the Denver district attorney. The allegation is that the boys committed sexual intrusion with an object — as opposed to sexual penetration, which is considered use of a body part.
One 14-year-old is charged with second-degree kidnapping, two counts of sexual assault and false imprisonment. The 15-year-old is charged with second-degree kidnapping, sexual assault and false imprisonment. The third child, 14, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, sexual assault and false imprisonment.
The names of the boys are being withheld by The Denver Post because they are juveniles.
