COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—More than 30 residents of a Colorado Springs apartment building are displaced following a large fire.

The Gazette reports ( ) that 14 apartments were declared a total loss in a three-alarm blaze Saturday night at a complex near the intersection of Circle Drive and Airport Road.

The paper reports that the fire was knocked down about an hour after firefighters were called. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters said one apartment was gutted, and the 13 others were wrecked by smoke, flames and water.

Fire department spokeswoman Sunny Smaldino says the fire was caused when a resident went to get some items from the grocery store and left food cooking on the stove.
