THORNTON, Colo.—Police say a man and his young son have died after they were shot inside their home in the north Denver suburb of Thornton.
Authorities say the shootings occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday. The child died that day and the father died Wednesday.
Police tell KUSA-TV they aren’t searching for any suspects and they don’t believe the public is in danger.
The Adams County coroner’s office said Wednesday that 30-year-old Kevin Bristol and 4-year-old Michael Bristol both died of gunshot wounds.
Both had been taken to Denver Health Medical Center. The hospital released a statement from family members saying Bristol loved his family deeply and that they were devastated by the shootings.
