Kevin Bristol and his 4-year-old son, Michael, both died from gunshot wounds, the Adams County Coroner’s Office said this afternoon after completing the autopsies.
Their deaths, however, have not yet been declared a murder-suicide.
Kevin Bristol, 30, died this morning in a hospital following the . Bristol’s wife called police after she found her husband and son in a bedroom of their home in the 9200 block of High Street in Thornton.
Michael died Tuesday.
Though the shooting was first reported to police as a murder-suicide, the causes of their deaths was not made official today, as police continue to investigate.
The Bristol family released a statement Tuesday evening: “Kevin is a wonderful father who loves his family deeply. This is an impossibly difficult time for our family and we ask for people to respect our privacy. We are devastated by these tragic events and greatly appreciate the prayers for our family.”
