The newest member of the Mountain View Fire Rescue Board of Directors was decided by a roll of the die Wednesday.

During an election held Tuesday, candidate Catherine Henze tied with incumbent Debra Brodhead, according to a news release from the fire department.

Officials did a recount Wednesday night to confirm the number of votes were the same. After the recount, Brodhead and Henze opted to roll the die to determine the winner.

It came down to one roll, and in the end Henze rolled a four and Brodhead a six, making her the winner.

Brodhead, along with incumbent Jerrod Vanlandingham and newly elected Joe Baker will be sworn in on May 21.

The board meets on a monthly basis.

Mountain View Fire District provides emergency services in northern Colorado, including Boulder and Weld counties.
