FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A Colorado State University doctoral student has been taken to a hospital after a vial of liquid exploded in a chemistry lab.

The Coloradoan reports () the explosion happened around 10 a.m. Monday in the CSU chemistry building.

University spokesman Mike Hooker says the student was cut by glass from the vial that exploded while the student was working with fluorine potassium chloride and water.
