Classical music: Local faves join for  “Carmina Burana”

Tosay-Saturday. Two of the region’s biggest performance groups — and by big we mean really big (they pack the stage) — unite this weekend for a big piece of music, Carl Orff’s popular “Carmina Burana.” Joining forces are the Arvada Chorale and the Colorado Wind Ensemble, who will sing and play a recent arrangement of the work created for these combined performers. Also on the program is Bernstein’s “Candide Suite.” Hear it at 7 p.m. today at the Parker Arts, Culture & Events (PACE) Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave., Parker; or 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lakewood Cultural Center, 470 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood. $11-$21.50. Get tickets at each box office. More info on both performances: .
