FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Loveland has approved a moratorium on oil and gas drilling within city limits and the Fort Collins City Council is giving tentative approval.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan ( ), the Loveland City Council on Tuesday passed an emergency nine-month moratorium on new oil and gas operations within city limits as a time out, and the Fort Collins City Council unanimously gave initial approval to an ordinance that would establish a moratorium up to 8 months.
Officials are worried that they might not be prepared for well accidents and any evacuations that might be needed.
