Lawrie, 43, will make his 500th career start on the European Tour when he plays in the World Match Play Championship this week in Spain. The Scotsman started on the tour in 1992 and has won seven times, including the 1999 British Open. Lawrie is the 22nd member to join the “500 Club.” For his achievement, he received an engraved ice bucket from the tour. The record for most starts is Sam Torrance at 706.
