BRECKENRIDGE, Colo.—Authorities are trying to determine the identity of a man found dead near a Breckenridge resort.
Deputies responded just before noon Saturday to a report of a body found in the woods at the Burro trailhead near Beaver Run Resort.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death as a homicide but hasn’t released many details about the case. The Summit Daily News ( ) reported that the office waited 24 hours to announce the discovery of the body to give investigators time to start their probe.
The victim appeared to be camping out long-term on the U.S. Forest Service property.
