Eight Denver elementary schools students were taken to local hospitals this morning after they were injured in a bus collision.
The accident happened just before 8 a.m. on Interstate 225 near Yosemite Street, said Denver Police Department spokesman Sonny Jackson.
The students injuries were described as minor, with most experiencing back and neck pain, Jackson said.
There were 26 students on the bus heading to Samuels Elementary School, 3985 S. Vincennes Court, when the bus driver tried to changed lanes and collided with a car.
The driver has been cited for unlawful lane change, Jackson said.
The parents of the injured students have been notified of the incident. Further details on the injuries were not available.
The rest of the students were taken on to school by another bus.
