A squirrel caused a power outage at a Denver museum this morning, slightly delaying the daily opening of the facility.

“It happens year round, but especially this time of year,” said Mark Stutz, an Xcel Energy spokesman, on power outages caused by bushy-tailed, foraging rodents.

A squirrel burrowed into a fuse box of the , 2001 Colorado Blvd., in Denver’s City Park, earlier this morning and caused the outage, Stutz said.

The daily opening was delayed by 20 minutes until about 9:20 a.m., according to the organization’s Twitter account.
