FORT COLLINS — Colorado State’s football roster keeps changing, even in the offseason.
Rams coach Jim McElwain said Wednesday that the team granted a release to senior defensive end C.J. James.
The defensive end spot is now getting thinner for the team as James is the second player at the spot to leave the team since the end of spring. McElwain said James approached him about wanting to be closer to his home and his daughter, who was born during his first spring on campus.
“I’ve gone ahead and OK’d his release so he can seek out another school,” McElwain said. “He came in, and we discussed it, and I think it’s probably better for him, and I wish him the best.”
