Going into this week’s Senior PGA Championship, Fred Funk is in a groove. He won the Insperity Championship at The Woodlands on May 6 with a birdie on the final hole for a one-stroke victory over Tom Lehman, who won the 2010 Senior PGA at Colorado Golf Club. “It would be a big deal to have my name on it,” Funk told reporters this week when talking about the hardware. He has played in 10 events this year: six on the Champions Tour, four on the PGA Tour. He ranks first in diving accuracy despite ranking 190th in driving distance (259.8 yards).
