GREELEY — Six vehicles, two semi trailers and a couple of sheds were consumed in a massive fire in Greeley this afternoon.

No one was injured and fire crews were able to save a house on the property and a commercial building next door, the Greeley Fire Department said.

When firefighters arrived at ET&T Pallets at 1500 Ash St. on the east side of town they found “rows and rows of pallets covering the area of approximately the size of a city block and stacked 12 feet high that were burning,” according to a media release tonight from the Greeley Fire Department.

The hydrants were located a long distance from the fire, which required extra-long hoses to pumper trucks, slowing the effort, the department stated.

Most of the fire was extinguished within an hour, but crews are expected to monitor the piles of debris and ash thoughout the evening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and authorities have not issued an estimate for the loss.

The and thunderstorms are expected in Greeley tonight.
