A Colorado Springs man was arrested this morning after he allegedly broke a beer bottle over another man’s head and stabbed him in the arm with the jagged glass.
Around 1:25 a.m., the alleged victim and his girlfriend were sitting in his car in the 2000 block of South El Paso Avenue, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s crime blotter.
The two said they spotted a man looking into the car’s windows with a lighter. When the victim got out of the car, the man allegedly hit him in the head with a beer bottle.
During the fight that followed, the victim was stabbed in his lower right arm with the broken bottle. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Soon after the argument, officers located the suspect at a nearby apartment.
Officers arrested 23-year-old Francisco Mireles-Velasquel on suspicion of first-degree assault. He was booked in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
