Getting your player ready...

Running a small business takes tenacity, pluck and the willingness to wear many hats. Colorado Free University, Denver’s premier lifelong learning center, has always been a friend to the little guy, offering affordable quality skill-based and enrichment classes.

On June 2, join CFU’s third annual Un-Job Fair: An Exploration of Options and Opportunities for Successful Self-Employment. This daylong festival of presentations and seminars gives current and would-be entrepreneurs practical support and tips for starting or running their own businesses. Join with others who are in the trenches themselves and get the tools you need to take the next steps in your business.

Begin the day with presentations by Barbara Winter and Steve Veltkamp, two nationally known consultants in self-employment. Barbara is author of “Make a Living Without a Job” and Steve is the creator of Biz$hop and executive director of the Olympic Home Based Business Association and the Global Trade Society. Later in the day Tama Kieves, Denver resident and author of the popular “This Time I Dance – Creating the Work You Love!”, speaks to participants about how they can translate their passions into meaningful work. Throughout the day, participants choose from a variety of practical break-out sessions targeting their specific business needs. Topics include Internet marketing, business law, business structure, finances, and more. At the end of the day, all participants join for a panel discussion and Q&A with Barbara, Steve and Tama.

The fair is June 2, 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m. at Colorado Free University, 7653 E. First Place, Denver. Cost is $66 or $54 for members of CFU. For information, visit www.freeu.com or call 303 399-0093.
