A man was fatally shot in a parking lot outside an Aurora bar early Monday morning and police are looking at possible gang involvement.
The shooting happened about 1:40 a.m. outside the Du Rozz bar, 14569 E. Alameda Ave., according to an Aurora Police Department media release.
Police were called to the bar because a crowd was becoming rowdy. While officers were en route, dispatchers received an additional call on shots fired.
When officers arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A short time later another man showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital by a private party.
Police, including members of the department’s Gang Intervention Unit, are investigating the shootings.
The victims have not been identified. There have been no arrests.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Det. Mark Yacano at 303-739-6090 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
A $7,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the shooting death is being offered.
