United Airlines today announced that it will begin nonstop service between Denver and two cities – Shreveport, La. and Grand Forks, N.D. – and expand its existing summer-season flights between Denver and Anchorage to year-round service.
The announcement came one week after United announced daily nonstop service between Denver and Tokyo Narita International Airport beginning in the spring of 2013.
“These new routes cap off a monumental month for Denver, for United and our customers,” said James Starnes, director of domestic planning for United.
“United is committed to the Mile High City, and these new services underscore our commitment to bring to Denver the best network and schedule that any airline offers,” added Starnes.
The once-daily, nonstop service between Denver and Shreveport starts Aug. 28. United Express carrier ExpressJet will operate the flight with a 50-seat Embraer regional jet.
Twice-daily, nonstop service between Denver and Grand Forks International Airport begins Oct. 3.
United express carrier SkyWest will operate the flights with 50-seat Canadair regional jets.
