 Colorado anglers can wet their lines free of charge Saturday and Sunday in roughly 2,000 lakes, ponds and reservoirs, as well as 10,000 miles of streams and 37 of the state’s 42 state parks.

Though no license is required this weekend, all other regulations apply, including applicable catch limits and bait restrictions, so those who plan to fish need to check the rules for their location, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife

The agency waives the license requirement the first weekend in June each year to promote fishing in the state.

, anglers from 16 to 64 must have a $26 fishing license. One-day and five-day licenses are available.
