Adam Deadmarsh, the popular former Avalanche player who served as an assistant coach last season, has stepped down from the job to take a different position with the team.
Deadmarsh will now work in the player development office, under director Craig Billington. Tim Army, formerly the Avs’ video coach, will take Deadmarsh’s spot on the bench next to assistant Sylvain Lefebvre and head coach Joe Sacco.
The Avs said He and his wife, Christa, have two young daughters.
Army, 49, is a former head coach of Providence College and the Portland Pirates of the AHL.
