DENVER—A man who was given a speeding ticket while rushing his pregnant wife to the hospital says he will fight the charges.

Jacob Linch says he was going 11 miles over the 30 mph speed limit when he was pulled over by an Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy on Tuesday.

After getting the ticket, Linch continued to the hospital where his child was born 20 minutes later.

The sheriff’s office tells KUSA-TV ( ) Linch was given the $167 ticket after he refused offers to call an ambulance and told the deputy it was not an emergency.
