FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Tim Masters, who served a decade in prison for a homicide he didn’t commit, says a book he wrote about his conviction and his time spent in prison is therapy for the injustices he suffered.
Masters says he wanted to explain what it was like to trade 10 years for a $10 million payout from Fort Collins and Larimer County for his wrongful conviction.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan ( ), the title, “Drawn to Injustice,” is based on drawings prosecutors used to convict him.
Masters was convicted of killing Peggy Hettrick of Fort Collins in 1987. New DNA evidence led to his release from prison in 2008.
