Ten Thousand Villages, the nonprofit fair- trade store, is hosting a special after-hours shopping event to benefit the Domestic Violence Initiative for Women With Disabilities, 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Shoppers will find a distinctive selection of rugs, jewelry, gifts and home décor from its artisan partners in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Feline frenzy
The Dumb Friends League has at least 750 cats and kittens in need of homes so they are waiving adoption fees for cats 1 year and older this month. The free feline adoptions are offered at both shelters. Families that are unable to adopt may want to become a foster family and provide temporary care. The Quebec Street shelter is at 2080 S. Weekend marketplace
Handmade clothing for all ages, jewelry, live music and local food trucks are just a handful of the items offered at the SOBO Flea Market.
