DENVER—Oakland Athletics outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has left Wednesday night’s game against Colorado because of a strained left hamstring.
Cespedes was injured running out a grounder in the top of the first inning. He played left field in the bottom half of the first before being replaced in the field by Jonny Gomes in the second.
Cespedes, who is considered day-to-day, originally injured the hamstring last Thursday while running out a grounder against Texas. He missed the next four games before he returned to the lineup Wednesday.
The Cuban rookie was hitting .400 in June before getting injured. He is batting .265 with six homers and 26 RBIs this season.
