PENROSE, Colo.—Authorities say a 12-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening injuries when was shot in the stomach after he dropped a gun and it fired.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says the boy had been outside of his Penrose home on Tuesday shooting a .22 caliber revolver. When the youth went back inside his home, he dropped the gun and it fired. The boy’s stepfather was with him at the time.
According to KKTV-TV ( ), authorities say there is no indication of foul play and their investigation is continuing.
