Visual art: The view from Taos today

Through aug. 11. For more than a century, Taos, N.M., has fashioned itself as the art capital of the West, the anti-New York City where artists go to escape the scene in favor of beautiful scenery and legendary light. “Taos Contemporary,” at the Center for Visual Arts, offers an update, presenting the work of 56 painters, photographers and sculptors who live there today.
