A house fire early Monday morning injured two firefighters as they responded to the blaze at a one-story, wood-frame home north of Fort Collins.
Five occupants escaped from the house at 3521 Canadian Parkway, as well as a pet cat. But as firefighters searched the home’s kitchen and living room area, flames flashed over them, prompting their escape through a nearby window.
They were taken to Poudre Valley Hospital with minor burns and were treated and released. Both worked yesterday on the raging High Park Fire.
The initial report of the fire, which came in at 3:20 a.m. Monday, described a camper ablaze. However, the flames soon spread to the house, which suffered extensive damage. Poudre Fire Authority investigators are still seeking the cause of the fire.
