Ryland Homes has a grand opening today that’s one step ahead of the city’s exciting new plans for Airport City Denver – the vision for hotels, commercial and high-tech development that’ll be lured to DIA in years to come. RTD’s East Line commuter rail won’t open its 22-mile link between DIA and downtown before 2016 – but right now you can tour two Ryland models (one is an affordable ranch) that have been Ryland hits in other parts of the country, never before seen in Colorado.

Ryland’s High Point, off Tower Road at E. 64th in what’s being called the ‘Gateway’ part of the Airport City plan, is a mile-and-a-half from Frontier Airlines’ headquarters, eight miles from DIA’s terminal. You can see the community pool and cabana already open; and nearby K-thru-8 High Point Academy (residents get priority admission). What you WON’T see or hear, according to Ryland’s Angie Hunt, are jets. She lives on the other side of town, and she hears more airplanes at home than she does at High Point, well off DIA’s approaches.

She’ll show you the big value Ryland creates with these models – starting with a ‘Motivation’ family-sized 4-bedroom with 2,860 square feet; and moving on to a ‘Bliss’ ranch plan, 1,826 square feet with a big-island kitchen with plenty of bar seating, a spacious master, a study, and a second bedroom-bath that would work well for buyers wanting a double-master.

All of Ryland’s nine plans have a partial basement included, something not every builder is doing; and in The Bliss, Ryland shows how it could finish that basement now, with 9-foot ceilings and a structural floor, to create much more living/entertaining space below.

If you’re arriving from out of town, starting work in DIA’s orbit or maybe looking to when you could ride commuter rail into downtown, Hunt will show you where Ryland is starting work on a family-sized ‘Charity’ 4-bedroom, on track for delivery this August. It has an oversized side-entry garage; dramatic 2-story entryway; huge master with retreat; hardwood floors in kitchen, entry and nook; quartz countertops; maple cabinets; fireplace; a popular option for outdoor living space in a covered patio; and a full basement.

The price is $289,759. That includes a grand-opening special: full front-and-backyard landscape on every home. To reach the opening at High Point, from I-70 take Peña Blvd (DIA Freeway) north two miles to E. 56th Ave., head east a mile to Tower, then left (north) a mile to E. 64th, and east, past High Point’s information center, to the models.
