Mrs. Fields Famous Brands is looking to capitalize on the relocation of its headquarters to the Denver area by sharing ideas with similar companies and nurturing the brand.
Mrs. Fields Famous Brands is the franchisor of the Mrs. Fields cookie and TCBY yogurt brands. It is relocating corporate offices from Salt Lake City to Broomfield. The move will be completed July 9, Mrs. Fields CEO Tim Casey said Friday.
“Anytime you can be part of an environment that is rich, all the resources become more available to you,” Casey said. “Denver has a willingness to share information, and we think that adds value to this organization.”
The Denver area is home to other fast-casual, franchising restaurants like Quiznos and Noodles and Co.
“We’re a franchisor, so we base success on franchising,” Casey said. “We’re looking to grow both of our brands, and this is one of the strongest marketplaces for that.”
Casey said the move will bring 35 to 40 jobs to the Broomfield office at Arista Place, located near the 1stBank Center. Some of those jobs will be employees relocating from Salt Lake City, but the majority will be hired locally.
Stephanie Salazar, president and CEO of the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation, said Broomfield is a great environment for these businesses.
“I think Broomfield has been fortunate,” Salazar said. “We’ve had a lot of companies expand into this area, but anytime a headquarters relocates, it’s fantastic.”
The company selected Broomfield after narrowing its choices down from six possible sites across the country.
“The key factors were making sure our team members had a great place to live, we had easy access to our branding agency in Boulder, and it’s an office environment that met our needs,” Casey said.
