Lily Allen has given her fans something to “Smile” about.
The British vocalist confirmed Wednesday that she is back to making music, working in the studio on new material with longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin.
at the star’s return in April, when she was spotted at RAK Studios in St John’s Wood, London.
Allen’s last album, was released in 2009. In 2010, Allen said she would be taking a break from the music world to spend more time on her fashion store and personal life. Allen, 27, welcomed her first child last November with husband Sam Cooper.
Allen Tweeted Wednesday that she thought fellow English singer Kate Nash’s musical comeback was “pretty cool,” prompting to reply, “Itap better than no music at all isn’t it. ISN’T IT LILY.”
To which Allen responded, “You will be pleased to know that i am currently in the fucking studio with @GregKurstin so SHUT UP PETER !” (Speaking to Popjustice’s editor Peter Robinson).
She later added, “No big deal really, im just throwing shit at the wall and seeing if anything sticks.” –Kelsey Fowler
