NEW CASTLE — — The town of New Castle will have to put its plans to jump-start a potential new commercial business park on hold until officials can figure out how to acquire the needed land.

Garfield County commissioners this week advised town officials that any financial support from the county to help pay for public infrastructure on the site is likely some time off.

That project, which would include a pedestrian bridge and roundabout, is “first in line” for obtaining county assistance, Garfield County Manager Andrew Gorgey said during a Tuesday work session between county commissioners and New Castle officials.

Municipalities in Garfield County will find out June 29 which of their FML funding requests are to be granted, Gorgey said.
