A motorcycle driver was injured in Fort Collins on Monday night in a traffic accident involving a frozen food delivery truck.
The accident happened at about 7:10 p.m. near the intersection of Shields Street and Truxtun Drive, according to a Fort Collins Police Department media release.
Jeffrey Boulton, 45, of Fort Collins, was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Shields when a “Schwan’s delivery truck made a left turn from eastbound Truxtun Drive onto northbound Shields Street in front of the motorcycle,” police said.
The motorcycle “skidded for several feet” and went down. Boulton was thrown from the Harley. Neither the motorcycle or Boulton were hit by the truck.
Boulton, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Schwan’s truck, Michael Mann, 43, of Greeley, was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information on the incident who has not already talked with police is asked to call Officer Drew Jurkofsky at 970-221-6555.
