A 57-year-old man has been formally charged for the attempted murder of his neighbor in Denver.
Albert Gonzales, 57, was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder in the first degree and first degree assault.
According to a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office, Gonzales stabbed the 56-year-old victim several times with a folding knife after a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation at their home in the 2400 block of West 32nd Avenue.
The victim had to be transported to the hospital.
Gonzales is in custody. The judge has set a $50,000 bond.
He will appear in court on June 29 for his second advisement.
