DURANGO, Colo.—Airlines flying out of Durango are cutting back on the number of passengers on some flights because of a Colorado heat wave.
Low air density is to blame for the complications after temperatures soared over 90 degrees.
According to the Durango Herald ( ), the high altitude and high temperatures force airlines to reduce passenger and baggage loads so they can take off.
Some airlines are changing schedules to take off during cooler hours.
