Garfield County Sheriff’s Office officials found a downed single-engine aircraft — and its pilot — near Glenwood Canyon Saturday evening after receiving a distress call just before 2 p.m.
The pilot survived the crash and was mobile and talking when he was transported to a unidentified medical center, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
The crash site was on the Jess Weaver Trail near the No Name Creek Trailhead.
The call came in from above the No Name Trailhead on the east end of Glenwood Canyon around 4 p.m.
