A new emergency manager has been named for Jefferson County.

Clint Fey, West Metro Fire Protection District’s assistant chief, was selected for the position by Jefferson County Sheriff Ted Mink.

With 22 years of fire service experience, 17 of those with West Metro, Fey is the right person for the job, Mink said.

“His background and experience in all-hazard emergency management and as an assistant fire chief will serve him and our community well in this position,” Mink said in a statement.

Fey has served as an incident commander, chief of West Metro’s wildland team, chief of EMS & Safety Services and as a plans team manager for Colorado Task Force 1, a FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team, officials said.

Jeffco emergency management is responsible for coordinating multi-agency responses to natural or man made disasters.

Fey will oversee the team of disaster preparedness experts who continually evaluate potential hazards and seek ways to keep residents and emergency responders prepared for those situations, officials said.
