Career highlights: Simpson, whose maiden name was Barringer, was a star steeplechaser at CU, making her first world championships team (2007) and first Olympics before graduating. She holds the American record in the steeplechase but last year and won a gold medal at the world championships. She , fighting her way through traffic after getting boxed in early to finish third and make the team. While she no longer runs the steeplechase, she is a , who succeeded her at CU. All three won NCAA steeplechase titles. Coburn and Kipp made the Olympic team in the steeple.
