2012: Won the Portland half marathon on May 20 in 1 hour, 13 minutes, 5 seconds.

Career highlights: Goucher won NCAA titles for CU in cross country and track (5,000 and 3,000 meters) but spent much of her early years as a professional struggling with injuries. In 2004 she moved from Boulder to Portland, Ore., with her husband Adam — also an elite runner — to train with former marathon great Alberto Salazar. She flourished after the move.

She made history in 2007, winning a world championships bronze medal in the 10,000 meters, the first world championships medal for an American ever in that event. In 2008 she finished third at the New York City Marathon in 2:25:53, the fastest marathon debut for an American woman. Six months later she finished third at the Boston Marathon. She , Colt, in September 2010, and , leaving Salazar for Jerry Schumacher.
