Magnificent homes in Steamboat’s gated communities of Storm Mountain Ranch and Anglers are included in this year’s annual Strings Kitchen & Garden Tour on July 21. There’s a self-guided option, a 17-mile biking tour for cyclists (tickets are $30, $25 in advance) and a VIP tour ($65) that includes door-to-door service, a goodie bag and lunch. A light continental breakfast with live music kicks off the tour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Strings Park. Featured homes are open until 3:30 p.m. Guests may also reserve a $15 lunch served midday. German for a day

Saturday is the second day of the 16th annual at the TEV Edelweiss Pavilion, 17832 Highway 8 in Morrison. Doors of the family-friendly fest open at 11 a.m. with German food, live music and dancing, a Biergarten, children’s activities including games such as eierlaufen (egg races), Ringhuepfen (a ring-hopping race) and sacklaufen (sack races). The award-winning TEV Edelweiss Schuhplattler dancers also perform. Activities continue until 10 p.m. Admission is $10, free children under 12. BiergartenFest.com

What’s mining is yours

hosts a “30th Anniversary & Membership Celebration” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Visitors will see steam engines and trammers and may take a “top down” tour of the Stamp Mill Gold Refinery. A study in nature

The Audubon Nature Center continues its A botany field class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday with native plant expert Carol English. Bring bug spray to a two-hour “Night Hike” beginning at 7 p.m. Friday. Local artist Raz Seri will teach participants how to express themselves through color (and vino) in a “Wildlife & Wine” class on July 28 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Classes are at the Audubon Center at Chatfield State Park in Littleton.
